I will be announcing the official release here very soon, so keep an eye out!

Well, shoot, I might as well do one of these, since I shamelessly jump on bandwagons!

I first heard about deviantART through a friend of mine. He was older than me and much cooler so I thought 'Hey, maybe I'll be cool too!'. So, on October 6th, 2009, I made my first dA account. I was 13 at the time and I uploaded mostly pencil sketches of the characters from 9, Horton Hears a Who and Transformers, along with whatever else I was obsessed with at the time.

Besides a few original pieces here and there, my gallery was 99.9% fandom art. I was really just doing art as a way to pass the time, mostly. I'd always been a doodle-er, and dA was a place for me to keep them all in one place and comment on other people's work.

It wasn't until I discovered Original Character Tournaments that I realized that art didn't have to just be sketching your favorite characters. I began watching :iconzeurel:'s and :iconunknown-person:'s animations and I was completely in awe.
It had never crossed my mind that people animated for fun. It had never crossed my mind that people MADE CHARACTERS for fun! I had never even thought of making my own stories until then.

Unfortunately, I'm pretty sure I deleted many of my first drawings I uploaded on my first account. Mostly out of (understandable) embarrassment, but honestly, I wish I hadn't! But I did find very first drawing of Astaroth I ever did from 2011.

(wow, haha yeesh)

It was all downhill from there. Through their animations I discovered animated shorts, then webcomics, then graphic novels... There was this whole world of art and animation that I was discovering and I was completely amazed! People were so talented and I was inspired! I realized that I could do my own stories... I could draw my own characters and I could make my own amazing art someday, if I worked hard enough and practiced, practiced, practiced!

I even dared to dream that... Perhaps one day it could be my job? I saw some people here on dA, like :iconhumon: and :iconalexiuss: who drew comics and I realized that it was possible for some people!

Now that, oh-ho, that was the biggest motivation of all. The thought that maybe, just maybe, I could even make art for a living? It was a long shot, and I had a long way to go, but I was utterly determined. I took a look at dA, saw all these other amazing artists making a living and decided that I was going to work as hard as I could.

I bought my tablet, I learned how to draw on the computer and I drew NONSTOP.

I kept uploading on my old account, but I finally decided I needed a new start. If I was gonna make these stories a reality, I wanted to really focus on them, instead of having them mixed in with a bunch of doofy fandom scribbles.

So, I made this account.

I made this account in 2012, deleted it, then made it again January 17th 2013.

So here I am! August 2014 and I'm preparing for publishing my first webcomic online! It's amazing to see how much surrounding yourself with amazing artists will help you stay inspired.

Not much of a story, I'm afraid, since people write these journals out in a slew of different ways...
But dA has been a consistent source of inspiration to me. There's been so many amazing artists and so many amazing people I've met on here. I've met people who are now my best friends, I've learned, I've improved, and I look forward to more years of improvement and more years of inspiring people! :)

I just wanted to make a little journal about this because I'm so flattered because out of nowhere, I was featured in a monthly feature!

 I'm super excited about this, wow, haha!

Thought I'd make a journal in case I want to remember/check it out in the future. :)
